Overview:
This was our game jam game for the 2018 iThrive Game Jam in May of 2018, in which the theme was empathy. Our team created a game based on your decisions, or lack thereof, to help people on your way on a bus through the desert. We won 2nd place overall, with best art and best design.
My Role:
I worked as a lead programmer and producer, writing most of the code for interactions, visual effects, audio, and coordinating with 2 other programmers who wrote the event system, and character AI, respectively. I also worked with everyone to I ended up having to fill the role of UI designer as well, working with out artist and sound person to bring all the scenes together.

Lessons Learned:
I ended up learning a lot with such a large team. Working with so many people gives you a lot of capacity to create content, but it adds quite the overhead to wrangling a bunch of people into one room and make sure that they’re all working towards a cohesive game. I got to work with audio people and spend more time playtesting and refining user experience.
